This event is a special one - we'd like to thank each of you that has supported Refresh Events over the past year. Come on out to The London Tap House on August 24th at 7pm to meet fellow designers, developers, entrepreneurs and others working in Toronto's vibrant interactive and social media community.

When we decided to host a social event for the month of August, we promised to do something that we’ve never done before. We wanted to do something unique to reintroduce people to our brand and get them talking.

We were greatly inspired by community events like hohoto and fundraiser events like pibTO. We wanted to give back to the community that has given us so much, and what better way than to integrate a social cause component into our event.

We’ve very proud to announce that Refresh Summer Social ‘09 will be raising funds for War Child.

For those of you that may be unfamiliar with this incredible charity, War Child works for children all over the world to mitigate poverty, provide education and to defend and fight for their rights. We work tirelessly to help children who’s lives have been torn apart by conflict and provide them with the means for a brighter future.

We’ve added a donation box to the event registration page that you can use to donate to War Child. Please consider making a donation to War Child Canada. By donating, you can provide urgently needed humanitarian assistance and education to war-affected children around the world.

We’ve also created a Refresh-branded beverage that will be available for purchase. Dubbed “The Green Monster” (you’ll soon understand why we’ve named it so), proceeds from this delicious social lubricant will be donated to War Child.
